Jin10 Data, August 12 - In response to President Trump announcing the deployment of the National Guard to Washington, Los Angeles Mayor Bass criticized in a media interview on the 11th that Trump's move is disturbing and exceeds presidential authority. Bass stated that the government needs to respond to people's concerns about crime, but she believes that the Trump administration's measures will not help address the corresponding issues and exceed its authority. Bass also mentioned that in June of this year, the federal government deployed National Guard personnel to the Los Angeles area without a request for assistance from the state government, and such intervention and takeover are concerning; the federal government should not use the military for political theatrics.
