Three years ago, a complaint from the US SEC started a long legal tug-of-war with Ripple. On July 14, 2023, the lawsuit between Ripple and the SEC finally came to a conclusion. The judge ruled that Ripple’s public exchange and algorithmic issuance of XRP tokens did not violate the federal securities laws, but institutional sales constituted unregistered investment contract offers and Sale. According to the court judgment document, the lawsuit will enter the trial stage. This ruling is only the ruling of the trial court, and some of these rulings are likely to be appealed and overturned.
