Anchorage Digital launches a venture capital arm to support early-stage on-chain protocols.
The cryptocurrency custody unicorn Anchorage Digital has established a venture capital arm to support early-stage protocol teams. Called Anchorage Digital Ventures, this arm will provide financial and strategic support to founding teams building infrastructure on-chain. Anchorage states that the program aims to help protocols "be ready for institutions from day one" and provide support beyond the scope of financial investment.
Anchorage stated that they are particularly interested in working groups focused on Bitcoin DeFi, real assets, decentralized identity, and other areas with the potential to become infrastructure. The company also emphasized that projects addressing the weaknesses of institutional adoption are a primary focus. Applications to participate in the program are now open, and selected founders will be invited to a demo day exclusively for guests at the Token2049 event in Singapore in October. Anchorage will announce the list of grant recipients at that time.
